"Counselor" Summer Camp
Qualifications:
Desire and ability to work with children in a camp setting Able to balance the needs of campers, camp, and themselves Ability to accept supervision and guidance Willingness to adapt behaviors as necessary to continue growing in their position and role in camp Be of good character, integrity, and adaptability Exceptional communication skills with both staff and campers Well-developed sense of responsibility, good judgment, and common sense Be an adult role model of how to live responsibly and maturely Understand the potential of young children The ability to maintain the stamina and endurance needed to succeed in an immersive camp environment Ability to help campers develop Jewishly by being a positive Jewish role model
Responsibilities:
Have fun! Be responsible for the needs of the campers, your fellow staff members, and yourself Be safety conscious at all times Support your fellow staff members and have a positive attitude Maintain strong lines of communication with all other staff members including formal and informal evaluations with your supervisor Respect the feelings of all members of the camp community Maintain a positive, productive attitude Be fair and courteous to everyone at camp Be actively engaged with campers Be on time and participate in all assigned activities Dress appropriately for activities Supervise all children enrolled in camp Assist campers with all activities Executing daily activities with children Supervise children during swim activities Maintain camper compliance with camp rules and of the camp safety and health regulations Fill in for different camp role Providing direct support during various camp activities and field trips Ensure the campers' safety Provide medical/nursing care to deaf and hearing impaired campers ages six to eighteen at summer camp Participating successfully in all aspects of camp activities Maintain an incident report book on all campers for each camp session Help each camper adjust and get to know other campers and camp life Promote and stimulate participation of campers to ensure a pleasant camp experience Perform essential functions while attending summer camp Engaging the children in activities Keep the camp and supply closet Supervise campers in camper group within activities and throughout the camp in order to meet the intended camper outcomes Follow daily schedules assigned for each week of camp Provide support to the overall operations of the summer camp Lead and supervise campers with outdoor and indoor recreational activities Recommended Skills Child Care Child Development Social Skills Socialization Teaching Apply to this job.
